Day 2 in pics & video
We got some outside time today (believe it or not). The fresh air was great and it knocked the groggiesness out of our little guy. Ella Sophia ran around in circles and had fun too. Here is our little guy shortly after the outside adventure and right after the nurses took that not-so-fun tube […]
post-op day 2
Had a great night last night. Joey Coop slept for us and all of his monitors cooperated and did not make too much noise. He is on new pain meds and they are still causing some itching so we have meds that help to lessen the itch! Today he will be taken off ng tube […]
forgot to mention…surgery went AWESOME
he did GREAT in surgery. It only lasted 3 hrs or so. It went exactly as it was supposed to w/ no complications. The patholgist confirmed that it is only 30% affected- so that 30% of colon is gone and his ostomy was pulled down and re-attached to rectum/anus. His colon, which usually looks sort […]
Day one post-op
Last night was HARD. We got maybe 3 hrs of broken sleep. JC is obviously hooked up to lots of monitors and his respirations were low so the monitor was CONSTANTLY beeping and we thought it was bothering him. So one of us was constantly standing at crib keeping him calm and silencing the monitor […]

Arrived at hospital Sunday morning. He had his last breasfeeding session at 12pm. They put in his ‘ng’ tube (tube down his nose into stomach) around 1pm and started a solution called ‘go lightly’ to clean out his colon. After two four hour shifts of the go lightly he was ‘cleaned out’ and allowed clear […]

Travel Day one
How do you people w/ more than one kid do it? Traveling w/ two is challenging + ALLL the stuff. There is NO way we could have flown. Thank goodness we rented a mini van, it fit all the ‘stuff’ that comes along w/ two kids. Ella is so EASY going when it comes to […]
Proximal Colostogram?
Ok, so yesterday we went to the hospital for a scheduled procedure that our surgeon, Dr. Marc Levitt requested. It’s called a ‘proximal colostogram’. It’s an xray of my little guy’s upper gi tract (through his stoma). A catheder was inserted into his stoma and some contrast dye was injected. It wasn’t all that bad. […]
ER trip last night
So after a few days of spurattic crying from our little guy (crying was not from ebing tired or hungry). we headed to pediatrician. Then we were off to ER for Xray adn blood work. What an ordeal. Thank God for NICU nurses, otherwise our 4 hour trip would have been much longer. XRay’s turned […]
